Work it Viv, work it!

It was pointed out to me that people may not really care about my life... But hey, this is my blog. If they don't care, they won't read.

So here it is... What's is or is not working...

Farah. She's moving here. Working.

Biking. Yeah, I admit it. Not so good. I will be biking to work SOME day. But it has been a hot summer... I wonder how much I owe Parker if I don't bike to work in the next two weeks. I definately went on a few bike rides, but then I left the bike and can't figure out how to go get it. Not Working.

Tutoring. Yeah. That's ok. I think he's learning somethings. Not everything I want him to. But he definitely gets concepts better. N--W---Not---Wor---- Not sure.

Water. I have this new vow to drink A LOT of water in August, so I started this week, and I am doing well with that. Working.

Margins. Jenn Allen told me about this book Margin. And I decided to take to heart some ideas presented in it (i.e. leaving room in the margins). Working.

School. I am doing well, I think getting all A's. Plus, I am actually learning things. Working.

Work. Going well, hiring new people is interesting. Working.

Apartment. I have most everything to move in. I emptied out my dresser today and started throwing excess things away. I really only need a sofa. That's about it. Working.

Anyway, that's it. Pretty much working.

Sigh

To Whom it May Concern (particularly Jenn who did it)

While I understand your need for practical jokes and trickery I must let you know....

Anything that is going to RUIN my paint job on my car, will pretty much piss me off. Thus causing me to send you bills for my new paint job. I'm just saying, I appreciate a good prank here and there, but let's not destroy the top of my car with oils from fake meats and some coconut looking crap. I'm very sad. I fear the paint on my car is pretty much oiled over... Maybe it's just the wax is all gone... But I am doubtful. My poor car is spotted now and will be sad sad sad to sell (not like I was going to anyway, but it definitely makes me sad).

I'm over you.

What with our souls in right vulnerable state an' all...

So listen, I am tired. Very tired.

We had a good time at work today. It was a lot of fun having my mom come in for the Tea Party. We didn't really drink tea, rather we had chocolate milk and finger sandwiches. But previous to this adventure, Mr. Parker and I went on another adventure which definitely involved viewing Pirates, and a scary white haired man who stalked Parker in the bathroom, and a Michael (I'm not saying which one) discovering he really isn't hip as he fell over a whole row of chairs.

Yeah, two days. Two different adventures. And now, what for tonight.

Amazing. Who knows.

Shaw, out.

P.S. There was SO much mention of spirituality in Dead Man's Chest. Silly.

Arrrr... 'Ello Poppet.

Ok. I am a sucker for an epic movie.

I liked Pirates a lot. I know a lot of the critics didn't like it, but I totally did. It was epic, good story, fascinating characters, and pretty amazing visuals. I'll respect the fact that a lot of people haven't seen it yet, but I want people to recognize the spiritual symbolism in the movie. Not that it is promoting a particular faith, rather that it has snapshots of it to help sell the theme of "souls" in the movie.

I really liked the development of Elizabeth in this film. She gained some depth, and I also really really like Davy Jones who I was about to swear that I wouldn't like (previous to viewing the film). But, hey I was wrong about Cars, Incredibles, and I was wrong about ol' Davy Jones' Dead Man's Chest.

So shout out to Disney for taking a chance with ol' Johnny Depp on Movie 1 and allowing him to do the same killer job in Movie 2. I can't wait for 3 to come out. Yes, it was suppose to come out in December but due to the epic scale, Hurricane seasons, and probably stretching the DVD release out, we have to wait.

Also...
I love the article where Depp talks about the chance happening with this role in EW. Pick up your copy today.

My Life

Ok I totally had a flashback reunion with my favorite O-family the Flinns. Man, I miss all of them. It was lovely really... Here are some shots from the events...

1. Notice Sir Jason meeting Cinderella
2. Notice Jeremy does sleep
3. Notice how they treat Jeremy like "the red-headed step child" (Thanks for the phrase Parker)
4. Mr. Flinn totally turned 55 so I made the candles work for them
5. Jason and I are cool dudes (or dorks)
6. I really miss Farah! Boo hoo... I wish she was here!

I'm just saying.
