Random like the 4th of July

Ok here are a load of random pictures...

A man riding over the freeway on a horse.
My CLUE Date with Farah Pack
Me with the BFF of the GF

Told ya they were random.

Friday Breezes

So today I was the top scorer for the MotionZ laser tag thing in the mall. There were only 11 people playing, but I still counted it to be a good thing.

I took Farah and her brothers Eric and Andrew to the mall to do that, we also went to a comic books store, and then to the movies. Eric and I opted for the film Superman Returns while Farah and Andrew saw Nacho Libre. Both had been previously viewed by me, and pretty much Superman was a B- and Nacho Libre a C+. They were both Ok, just not great.

Tonight Farah and I spent our break away from the boys where we went to Starbucks and I drew a map of Santa Maria for her. After that we drove and charted milage. It was lovely really. Also tonight we discovered an interactive gameshow on GSN. For sure, it is rigged, tote.

Anyway tomorrow I head out of town in about 6 hours, so off I go.

Oh, Snap Mr. Parker!

I am well on my way to living out my resolutions for life. I didn't feel the need to make New Years Resolutions, I just wait till I see the need for a change in my life and I act on it.

Today I worked toward four of the big committments in which I hope all four will pan out:

1. I previewed and basically secured my new place with Mr. Parker for the first weeks of August. Which will hopefully minister to my social life. We will be moving out of the nests and into a lovely two room apartment in Orcutt. Yeah, the scenery doesn't change much, but the challenges will be there to get us both in line. Ya know with Farah moving into town I'll have to get my act together.

2. I bought my bike helmet and a bike pump so I can actually ride that bike I borrowed from Jenn earlier this week. Which will hopefully minister to my body. Shout out to Jenn for the loan, I won't forget you when I'm famous. But, I totally went on a ride to the Houghs. A good start to my goal of biking to work about once a week. I think it could work. I just have to condition my body, heart, and asthma a little first.

3. I invested into my new Bible study which will hopefully minister to my soul.

4. I took some time to tutor a second grade friend. Which will hopefully minister to his synaptic growth and language acquisition. Anyway, we read some funny books about knights and silly stuff. I learned a lot about development and all, which is good stuff. I'll be meeting with him for about 9 weeks to help him out. It's an assignment for school, I'm not that amazing, but I think I would have done it either way. Gotta love the church.

Anyway, I love it. Life is good.

Rock on.

X-Men Overload

Ok, listen. I went out last night with the lovely Farah to the movies. And well... We saw CARS which despite my doubts and negative initial thoughts, it was REALLY good. I loved Mater and the Italian Mechanic. It was just good stuff.

But then I started watching X3 for the.... 2... no... 3... no... 4... no... Fifth time! It is a bit much. You know it is bad when you can recite every Mastique line, and do the motions when Magneto takes over the highway. Anyway...

Today I am left alone in Santa Maria as the beautiful and lovely Farah Drazin leaves for Redlands. Boo hoo. But I'm over it.

She comes back Saturday. Yippie.

The End, goodbye.

Hooray for Burrow!

Ah the memories!

"Wow. This is amazing. No seriously, this IS AMAZING!"

"Honestly! I'm not going to lie to you, this must have been overgrowth."

"Look, mine eyes hold the fire of Hell!"

X-Man of the Week

Many times we sit there and we think to ourselves... My I am a ghastly site. But when we look at the X-Men and their freakish companions we realize... Wow, I'm not that bad (unless our eyes wander to the figures of Storm and Logan... that's a different blog entirely though).

But I'd like to make a beast of a transition (oh I hate stupid transitions!!) It's BEAST! Beast I say! Enough. I picked him!

He's awesome. He's blue, intelligent, and can kick butt! He's definitely got the whole mutant thing down. Honestly I just want to post a picture of him cause he's so cool. My brain is fried from school work, so I will just say he rocks and save his back story for another day.

Peace and love to ya'll.

TV SUCKS!

I can't believe what kind of stupid commercials are on TV late at night. Seriously...

There was a woman singing SINGING about a scooter/power chair.
There was a man holding a 1 year old, never mentioning her, and talking about an air purifier.
There was a man with a bunch of disapearing money in front of him.
There was a man named Tom Kruse who says he can't sing.

I hate TV Commercials at night, and yet I love em so much.

I'm over it.

What did you do!? WHAT DID YOU DO!?

Ok that was a bit dramatic, but hey, I'm a dramatic guy. Listen, I had a really good (yet drawn out) day yesterday.

I woke up because the sun was in my eyes and I was a little angry cause I am realizing that I have officially become an old man, because I can't sleep past 9:30. Oh well. There are some benefits to that, and when I think of them I'll tell you. So I spent about 3 hours reading blogs, searching MySpace, and writing e-mails. That was a lot of time. Then after that I decided it was time to clean up. So I took a shower (or do you Americans say have a shower?) and got dressed.

After a bit of time had passed, I decided it was time to go out and look for a bike. Despite what my beloved friend Parker says, I will be biking to work at least once if not twice a week. I found two bikes I like, I'm just not sure what the difference between a mountain bike and a road bike is. If anyone knows that information would prove valuable to me.

So after searching for a bike and running into Josh and Dore (which I always do, sorta freaky, but always delightful) I talked to Parker for a long time about this, that, and the other. Then I decided it was time to watch a movie. So I went and saw Over the Hedge. Eh. It was the most average computer animated I've seen (wait--Hoodwinked was uglier, but at least it was a bit more on the clever side).

I adjourned from the movies and came to the Shaw house where I started to think about eating dinner, but then I was whisked away to college group where I helped Morgan with her Haiti meeting. They are going to do really well in Haiti. So, after a little group meeting with Billy, Alyssa, and Nicole I took off for the Burrow.

Man, that Burrow is rockin' these days. They have set up a secret Burrow/dancing/party hang out behind the shed at their house. It is going to be amazing when all of the pumpkins are in harvest and the vines cover the ground. I'm really excited to see how they grow. So we sat around the fire and talked about Potter, People named Farah, and Pumpkins. It was lovely. Then after my feet had frozen I decided to say good-bye.

I went on a Parker hunt, but couldn't find him. So I stayed and chatted with Jon, Morgan, Cassandra, Scotty, and Jim. It was interesting to say the least. Needless to say I was filled with frustration at one point. But hey, such is life. Anyway who knows what today may bring... Perhaps a sister or two, a niece, and a brother-in-law.

Mistress of the Elements

Here it is. X-Man of the week.

OK. This one comes after some good conversation with Andrew about the multicultural representation on the Gold Force Team, and the hotness on the big screen: Storm. Otherwise known as Ororo Munroe.

So, as far as my memory goes the story of Storm starts in Africa. Her parents/mother were/was killed and Ororo was trapped in a cave in of some building (yeah, I can't really recall all of the details). Nevertheless, she was freaked out, her parents died, and she became clatrophobic.

After that Strom lived in Cairo, Egypt where she was trained to be a thief, stealing from everyone as a child. Why a thief? Eh, probably just to give her a back story. Rumor has it she also tried to steal something from Xavier but she didn't succeed because of his psychic/telepathic blocks.

After some time she moved down south to Kenya to the villages where she was originally from. There she was worshiped as a goddess. She was really hardcore, and I believe she massacred a village at some time. Xavier heard about her, or sensed her, and brought her over to the X-Men. She was later appointed the leader of the Gold Force when the X-Men split in two. She also has had some love story lines with Forge and even Beast.

She's a tight character because she is in touch with the planet and her abilities (or is it powers Parker?) while limited, seem practical yet are extremely powerful. So, cheers to you Storm.

Image of the Month

Here it is. The image of the month. Not my favorite, but still. Some people like it. Enjoy.

Breaking my Vows...

Seriously. I'm just saying, my blog titles can't be nearly as shocking as Farah's, nor can they be as detailed (I guess). So here it is...

I broke an old vow today.

I totally rode on X at Magic Mountain and honestly I really enjoyed it. It was fun, scary, and empowering. Rock on! I'll have more to say or pictures to post soon.

Ok here are the pictures I promised you all...

Shaw, out.

The Wonderful World of Cass

Here she is! The cutest little girl ever! Love the Cass!

Here I am, trying to look hardcore. I look angry.

The K-man Checking out world through the lens.

Nikkers! She's totally trying to do a MySpace pose.

The birthday girl gearing up to get her first birthday cake!

Kyle and Li practice their parenting skills by taking care of the Roll. (No she's not pregnant!)

So who do you think looks most like Cass? Compare the pictures of her uncles, aunts, and parents and you decide who looks most like the Cass.

I'll tell you all soon who was voted most like her...

My gift to the Cass! She loves the gift of literacy!

Overall the day was amzingly lovely and tons of fun. We played a game or two and ate some food, and watched the Cass. Today, I sit here and ponder the likelihood of the Mountain. I still need thinking time.

Ok.... Shaw, out.
