Friends are Like...

OK… Maybe this is horrible, but I was talking with my mejor amigo tonight about the different types of friends one could have in his/her life and I came up with this theory: Some friends/people are like certain types of events and here’s how they go:.. Wait... This is suppose to be funny. Not necessarily "ha-ha" funny but, "oh that's funny" funny. So just laugh at my silliness. OK... Read:

1. Some friends are like going to a cheerleading competition. Other than the obvious peppy annoyance that this event may cause, is there anything bad that could actually happen at this event? Happy girls dancing around and leaping through the air in excitement? Even when you’re totally annoyed with the whole idea of a cheerleader competition you just enjoy being around them, cause heck—you start to believe that you’ve got spirit yes you do, and strangely you want to just respond “yes I do… how about you?”

2. Some friends are like a going to a baseball game. When you see them you are happy to see them, but you could always catch up with them on ESPN or just wait to hear about their adventures the next day in the office. Sure, they’re great fun when you have a hotdog and a beer in hand and you’re ready for a special event, but let’s face it… A hot dog and a beer every day really loses its special-ness.

3. Some friends are like going to a wrestling match. You enjoy the quarrel that takes place when you’re on the outskirts, and you tend to route for them, but you hope and pray that you’ll never I mean NEVER be the one in the ring, especially not the referee. Who wants to be in the middle of all that?

4. Some friends are like going to a chess match. As odd and awkward as it may seem, something just draws you into the intellectual conflict that they bring to you. You may not want to admit (yet) your secret appreciation for their analytical thinking (and your definitely not going to tell them that you have a picture of a rook and a bishop on your desktop) but you don’t mind calling them a mate, checkmate that is.

5. Some friends are like going to a Quidditch Match. You know its never really going to happen. They are a nice theory, but in reality they’re not going to fly, they’re not going to catch the Snitch, and you’re not going to watch anything other than them suiting up to go onto the pitch.

6. Some friends are like going to a pep rally. You get excited, there’s anticipation, and the best part there is a sense of hope, joy, and a feeling that as long as you stick together you can conquer the world (or at least those cross town rivals). Even when you walk away from the rally you still take that pom pom, a piece of the rally with you, reminding you to work it like Aloha.

Any other types you can think of?
